The short version. You own what you put in. Avowa grades it by published rules that no fee can change. You decide whether the result is published. What Avowa produces is evidence, not an audit or a certification. If you have a signed agreement with Avowa, that agreement wins where the two differ.

1. Who these terms are for

These terms are an agreement between you and Avowa, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("Avowa", "we"). They apply when you use the Avowa platform at app.avowa.ai, the Runtime SDK, a trust page, or any related service (together, the "Service"), whether as an AI vendor building an evidence profile, an enterprise buyer reviewing one, a member of an assurance firm, or a visitor opening a published trust page. By creating an account or using the Service you accept these terms. If you act for an organisation, you confirm you may bind it, and "you" means that organisation.

If your organisation has signed a Master Subscription and Services Agreement, Assurance Partner Agreement or other written agreement with Avowa, that agreement governs where it differs from these terms.

2. Your account

3. The service and plans

Avowa lets an organisation state what it claims about its product's security and AI practices, connect live systems and upload documents as evidence, and have that evidence graded and published for buyers to check.

We may improve, change or withdraw features, and may change free plans, on reasonable notice where the change is material. Reminders that keep an already-published claim from going silently stale (document expiry and attestation renewals) stay available on every plan.

4. What you put in

5. What comes out, and its integrity

The Service produces evidence grades (L1–L4), coverage, findings and contradictions, seals, trust pages, questionnaire answers, reports and signed receipts (together, "Outputs").

6. If you are a buyer

7. If you are an assurance firm

If you use a practice workspace to assess or attest for a client, your firm's Assurance Partner Agreement with Avowa applies alongside these terms. Your opinion is yours alone: Avowa does not review, approve or influence it, and no fee depends on its outcome. Credentials you declare are shown as declared.

8. Acceptable use

Do not: misrepresent an Output to anyone; access or attempt to access another organisation's data; probe, scan or overload the Service, or bypass its security or limits; scrape trust pages or the Service at scale; use the Service to build a competing product; submit unlawful content or malware; or use a signed receipt or seal for a product or period it does not cover. We may suspend access to protect the Service or other users, and will tell you why.

9. Fees

Paid plans are ordered through the Service or an Order Form, in US dollars, and renew automatically for the same term unless cancelled before renewal. Fees are non-refundable except where the law requires or these terms say otherwise. If a payment is more than 30 days overdue we may suspend paid features after 10 days' notice; your published trust page is not taken down for non-payment, but evidence it shows will age and read as stale. We may change fees at renewal with at least 30 days' notice.

10. Privacy and AI

Our Privacy Notice explains how we handle personal data about account users, visitors and prospects. For personal data inside Your Data, Avowa acts as a processor on your instructions; a Data Processing Agreement is available on request from privacy@avowa.ai. Avowa uses third-party AI models for tasks such as document assessment, as described at How Avowa uses AI, under terms that do not permit those providers to train on Your Data; Avowa does not train models on Your Data. Some Avowa personnel and contractors work outside the United States, including in India, under written confidentiality obligations.

11. Intellectual property

Avowa owns the Service, its grading engine and all improvements. You own Your Data and may use and share your Outputs for your business. The Runtime SDK is open source under the Apache License 2.0, which governs it. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without obligation.

12. Confidentiality

Each of us will protect the other's non-public information with at least reasonable care and use it only for the Service. Avowa does not use Your Data for anything other than providing and improving the Service, and may use aggregated, de-identified usage information that identifies no organisation or person.

13. Ending your use

You may close your workspace at any time. You may export Your Data for 30 days afterwards; we then delete it, except copies in routine backups until they cycle out, and records the law requires us to keep. We may end or suspend your access for a material breach of these terms that is not cured within 30 days of notice, or immediately where necessary to protect the Service or other users. Sections 4, 5, 11–16 survive.

14. Disclaimers

The Service and Outputs are provided "as is" and "as available". Avowa does not warrant that any buyer will accept an Output, that any deal will close, that you will achieve any certification, or that any seal will be awarded; that the Service is error-free or uninterrupted; or that evidence read from a connected system is complete. To the extent the law allows, all implied warranties are excluded.

15. Liability

To the extent the law allows, neither of us is liable to the other for indirect, consequential, special or punitive damages or lost profits. Avowa's total liability under these terms is limited to the greater of the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim and US$100. These limits do not apply to a party's gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or to anything that cannot be limited by law. You will defend Avowa against third-party claims arising from Your Data or from statements you make about yourself on the Service.

16. Changes and general terms

We may update these terms. For material changes we will give at least 30 days' notice by email or in the Service; continuing to use the Service after that date accepts the change. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, and disputes go to the courts located in Delaware. If any part is unenforceable, the rest stands. You may not assign these terms without our consent; we may assign them to a successor to our business. These terms, with our Privacy Notice and any Order Form, are the entire agreement between us on their subject. Notices to Avowa go to privacy@avowa.ai; notices to you go to your account email.
